This short story Prasadam written by Sundara Ramaswamy is a very interesting and lovely story, wherein most of the situations/events have its base in Nagercoil. A Police Constable is seen in the opening scene of the story who was just getting ready to go for his work. As he was getting ready, his wife quickly reminded him that it was their daughter's birthday that day and hence she requested him to definitely get a new dress with the price that was minimum that is approximately Rs. 50/- for her. Since it was the fag end of the month, the constable did not have any money and hence he quickly cracks his brains and worked out a few easy mental calculations in his mind that would enable him to get an extra amount of Rs 5O/- from the traffic rule defaulters that day in order that he could purchase a new dress for his daughter's birthday.
